Service Apartment - World Trade Center
The Service Apartment has the main entry leading to the double-height waiting lounge connected with the reception desk and the two circulation cores. The two dramatic staircases lead to the first floor with a restaurant on one side and conference rooms on the other which can also be accessed by the lift core. The two alternative guest floor plans are designed to create an interesting elevation. This is achieved by displacing the balcony and the corridor spaces at each alternate level. Ground Floor Plan First Floor Plan The longest side of the apartment is about 63 meters. So as to avoid the typical guest room layout with a continuous circulation corridor at the center with two rows of back-to-back guest rooms on the two sides of the corridor, I proposed the main lift cores at the center which break the long continuous corridor to avoid the claustrophobic effect. Such an arrangement allows the users to explore the spaces creating an interesting and unique feature overall. As the comple
