TRAVERTINE

Travertine, a form of limestone, comes from the byproducts created by hot springs around the world. During the process of formation, minerals within travertine are combined, providing a unique pattern, character, and collection. As a flooring material, travertine is typically sold in tile form and comes in a variety of earth tone colors, including tans, browns, rust, and beige hues.

APPLICATION: Travertine tiles can be used for garden pathways, decorative exterior walls or swimming pool decking. Since travertine, like many other natural stones, is very durable against heat, it is a good idea to use it for exterior decorations. CERAMIC

A ceramic tile is fabricated using a process of cooling and heating from various minerals and clays such as feldspar, zircon, bentonite, kaolin, and clay. PORCELAIN

Porcelain tiles are fabricated using natural clay. The porcelain tiles are made applying heat to refined clay, which produces a denser floor tile due to the higher temperatures. A floor tile with high-density can be used for indoor or outdoor projects. Porcelain tiles are also available in a range of colors, textures, and sizes to create the best fit for any style.

APPLICATION: Porcelain tiles are commonly used to cover floors and walls, with a water absorption rate of less than 0.5 percent. The clay used to build porcelain tiles is generally denser. They can either be glazed or unglazed.

WOODEN TILES

Rather than a material type, this is more of a tile category as tiles are fabricated using porcelain or ceramic, but mimics the appearance of wooden tiles. This provides the appearance and feeling of natural wood, and provides the easy cleaning and maintaining. It is also more durable than natural wood. SLATE

Slate is a fine-grained, foliated metamorphic rock that is created by the alteration of shale or mudstone by low-grade regional metamorphism. Slate is a fine grained tile which is able to be used outdoor or indoor.

MARBLE

APPLICATION: Marble is mainly used as a finishing stone on stone buildings, either cladding the structure itself or being used as supporting columns, flooring, benchtops and other decorative uses. While limestone is relatively quickly damaged by water and humid air due to the acid nature of the water content, marble is far more resistant and in many ancient monuments and buildings in Europe has stood up to the ravages of time reasonably well.

Granite is a type of igneous rock which developed by cooling magma or lava solidifying. A granite floor tile vary in color richness, and visual depths that make every stone naturally unique.
